Legacy Launcher Skins: How to Change and Fix Your Skin
To change a skin in TL Legacy, upload the PNG through a supported account provider and sign into that same account in the launcher. Skin visibility depends on the account type, selected profile, server authentication mode and compatible texture services.

Verified July 20, 2026: archived LegacyLauncher remains at v3.5.0; TL Legacy skin instructions refer to the separate llaun.ch launcher.

quick answer
How Legacy Launcher skins actually work
Search results mix two projects. TL Legacy at llaun.ch supports account integrations used for skins. The archived LegacyLauncher v3.5.0 project covered by this site's download pages is a separate Legacy Console Edition tool.
Use the same account identity.
Upload a valid PNG skin.
Test a compatible server.
account setup
Add the account that owns the skin
Open Accounts and add the identity used on the skin provider. A skin uploaded for one username will not follow a different offline or duplicate account.
Official TL Legacy interface from llaun.ch, shown for account and configuration context.
Match the username exactly.
Remove stale duplicate accounts.
Sign in again if needed.
change skin
Upload the PNG before starting Minecraft
Upload a valid Minecraft PNG, normally 64×64 pixels, and select classic or slim arms correctly. A skin is an image file, never an installer or browser extension.
Official TL Legacy interface from llaun.ch, shown for account and configuration context.
Confirm PNG format.
Choose classic or slim arms.
Restart after changes.
troubleshooting
Why your Legacy Launcher skin is not showing
Confirm the launcher started the same account. Test single-player and a compatible server. If the skin fails on only one server, that server's authentication or plugin configuration is the likely boundary.
Official TL Legacy interface from llaun.ch, shown for account and configuration context.
Check the selected account.
Test single-player first.
Ask whether the server supports the service.
compatibility
Official and third-party skins are different
A Microsoft account uses the official Minecraft profile skin system. Ely.by and other providers use their own texture services; uploading there does not change the official Microsoft profile.
Official account: use the official profile.
Third-party account: use that provider.
Offline names are server-dependent.

FAQ
Legacy Launcher skin questions
How do I change my skin in Legacy Launcher?
Upload a valid PNG through a supported account provider, add that same account in TL Legacy, then restart the launcher and game.
Why is my skin not showing?
Check the selected account, classic/slim model, texture cache and whether the server supports the same skin service.
Can I use Ely.by?
TL Legacy documents Ely.by as a supported account option, but its skin is not automatically an official Microsoft profile skin.
Does Essential Mod set the skin?
No. Mod compatibility is separate and does not replace the account or server texture service.
Is TL Legacy the same as LegacyLauncher v3.5.0?
No. They are separate launcher projects with different purposes and sources.
